SOME OF OUR PAST PROJECTS
Children with Disability
Hand Back Health in partnership with Tendo Ministries, provided care for a group of disabled children on a weekly basis for a number of years. The Chiropractor and Physiotherapist work in one room together providing treatment to this vulnerable group of children. They mostly suffer from neurological disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Spina bifida and Hydrocephalus. All of the children show slow but steady improvements in their overall abilities and it's a rewarding and beautiful experience for children, families and practitioners.
Improved Maternal Health
WHISPERS HOSPITAL-provided Chiropractic treatment to pregnant women to aid them reduce pregnancy related pain and back labour, helping numerous women throughout their pregnancy. Utilizing chiropractic techniques to help optimize foetal positioning we may ultimately reduce birth trauma and its residual effects upon the newborn. PREGNANCY TALKS IN RURAL VILLAGE CLINICS-HBH Provided educational workshops to women during pregnancy. Interven- tion and education into what constitutes a normal pregnancy and birth, nutrition and basic health can be invaluable.
World Spine Day Schools Competition
Educating youth about the prevention of spinal injury to enable them to disseminate the information in a fun and insightful manner to their peers and communities through posters, song and poetry.
Educational video
The therapists at Hand Back Hand created a video providing information on spinal disorders, cause and prevention. It was recorded in the local language; Lusoga and aimed at educating the community in how to fulfil daily chores without putting excess strain on the spine. The video was disseminated throughout the community.
Training Sessions
Hand Back Health believes in Educating our community about Chiropractic, prevention of potentially disabling conditions, wellness and spine care. We hold workshops in our local community, schools and businesses. Empowering communities to make informed healthcare decisions.
